Thì hiện tại hoàn thành

Thì hiện tại hoàn thành được dùng để diễn tả một hành động hay tình trạng đã xảy ra từ quá khứ và kéo dài đến hiện tại, hoặc một hành động đã hoàn tất vào một thời điểm không xác định trong quá khứ.

Thì quá khứ đơn

Thì quá khứ đơn được dùng để nói về một hành động đã diễn ra và kết thúc trong quá khứ, không còn liên quan đến hiện tại.

Diễn tả một hành động đã xảy ra một lần duy nhất trong quá khứ	They visited Paris last year. (Họ đã thăm Paris vào năm ngoái.)
Diễn tả một thói quen hoặc tình trạng đã tồn tại trong quá khứ	He always played soccer when he was young. (Anh ấy luôn chơi bóng đá khi còn trẻ.)

4. Dấu hiệu nhận biết thì hiện tại hoàn thành và quá khứ đơn

Dấu hiệu nhận biết thì quá khứ đơn

• Yesterday/Last week/Month/Year etc: Chỉ ra thời điểm cụ thể trong quá khứ.
• Ago: Sử dụng để chỉ khoảng thời gian đã trôi qua tính từ một sự kiện nào đó trong quá khứ.
• Then: Liên kết hai sự kiện xảy ra tuần tự nhau trong quá khứ.
• After/Before: Chỉ thời điểm diễn ra sự kiện so với sự kiện khác trong quá khứ.
• When/While: Mô tả thời điểm xảy ra sự kiện.
• Definite time periods (1990-2000): Khoảng thời gian cụ thể trong quá khứ.

Dấu hiệu nhận biết thì hiện tại hoàn thành:

• Yet/Just/Already/So far
• Ever/Never
• Recently/Lately/Recently
• For/Since/How long
• So far: Ngụ ý trải nghiệm có thể tiếp tục sau này.
