I. Lý thuyết về so sánh kép trong tiếng Anh

1. Khái niệm so sánh kép

So sánh kép  (Double Comparatives) là một dạng câu so sánh bao gồm 2 mệnh đề, dùng để diễn tả mức độ gia tăng hoặc giảm sút của một đặc điểm, tính chất nào đó khi so sánh hai đối tượng với nhau. So sánh kép thường được sử dụng để thể hiện sự thay đổi theo thời gian hoặc mức độ ảnh hưởng.

Ví dụ:

• The more you practice public speaking, the more confident and articulate you will become in delivering presentations. (Càng thực hành nói trước công chúng, bạn sẽ càng trở nên tự tin và ăn nói lưu loát hơn khi thuyết trình.)
• The harder you work on your fitness, the healthier and more energetic you will feel throughout the day. (Bạn càng chăm chỉ rèn luyện thể lực, bạn sẽ càng cảm thấy khỏe mạnh và tràn đầy năng lượng hơn suốt cả ngày.)

2. Cấu trúc so sánh kép

Cấu trúc 1:

The + comparative + S + V + the + comparative + S + V

Giải thích: Cấu trúc này được sử dụng khi muốn so sánh hai đối tượng hoặc nhóm đối tượng với nhau.

Ví dụ:

• The more you practice, the better you will perform, and the more opportunities you will create for yourself. (Càng luyện tập nhiều, bạn sẽ càng thể hiện tốt hơn và càng tạo ra nhiều cơ hội cho chính mình.)
• The harder you study, the higher your grades will be, and the more knowledge you will acquire. (Càng học chăm chỉ, điểm số của bạn sẽ càng cao và bạn sẽ tiếp thu được nhiều kiến ​​thức hơn.)

Cấu trúc 2:

The more + S + V + the + comparative + S + V

Giải thích: Cấu trúc này được sử dụng để diễn tả mối quan hệ tương quan giữa hai sự vật, đối tượng hoặc tính chất.

Ví dụ:

• The more you read, the more knowledgeable you become, and the better equipped you are to engage in intellectual discussions. (Càng đọc nhiều, bạn càng trở nên hiểu biết hơn và càng được trang bị tốt hơn để tham gia vào các cuộc thảo luận trí tuệ.)
• The more you practice speaking a foreign language, the more fluent you become, and the easier it is for you to communicate with native speakers. (Càng thực hành nói ngoại ngữ nhiều, bạn càng trở nên trôi chảy hơn và bạn càng dễ dàng giao tiếp với người bản xứ hơn.)

Cấu trúc 3:

Tính từ ngắn: S + V + adj + er + and + adj + er Tính từ dài: S + V + more and more + adj

Giải thích: Cấu trúc này được sử dụng để so sánh tính chất của một đối tượng hoặc sự vật theo thời gian hoặc mức độ gia tăng.

Ví dụ:

• The cake is getting sweeter and sweeter as I add more sugar. (Chiếc bánh ngọt hơn và ngọt hơn khi tôi thêm đường nhiều hơn.)
• The movie is becoming more and more exciting with each scene. (Bộ phim trở nên thú vị hơn và thú vị hơn với mỗi cảnh.)
